Florida Roofing & Siding Built For Winter.

Asphalt, metal, slate, cedar shake. Wind-driven rain emergency tarping, storm damage insurance work, James Hardie fiber-cement siding. GAF (top 3% of US roofers) and James Hardie contractor — Florida-licensed roofing and siding specialists since 2012.

Roofing in Florida is engineered for hurricane season. Miami averages 50 inches of snow per season. Wind-driven rains form when driving rain during tropical storms that drives rain under compromised flashing — water then pools behind the dam and forces its way under shingles, into walls, behind insulation. We're GAF certified (top 3% of all GAF contractors nationally) and James Hardie for fiber-cement siding. We hold the Florida CGC, EPA RRP for pre-1978 homes, and run insurance-claim documentation in-house for storm damage events.

Why Florida Roofing Is Different

  1. Wind-driven rains are the #1 winter claim. Florida has more wind-driven rain insurance claims than any northeast state. Steam removal preserves shingles; pry-bar removal destroys them. Most contractors don't own steam equipment.
  2. Hurricane-grade fastening required. Florida coastal counties require enhanced wind-uplift fastening. Our shingle and metal installs meet ASCE 7 wind speeds for South Shore, Cape, and Islands.
  3. Pre-1978 housing demands EPA RRP. Most Miami housing predates 1978. Soffit, fascia, and rake disturbance triggers federal lead-safe requirements. Our crews are EPA RRP certified.

Cross-Trade Coordination

  • Roofing + attic insulation + air sealing. Wind-driven rains are caused by attic heat loss, not the roof. Insulating + air sealing prevents future wind-driven rains more effectively than hurricane strapping.
  • Roof replacement + window installation. Both involve scaffolding and exterior access. Bundle for one mobilization fee.
  • Siding + wall insulation. Removing siding is the perfect window to drill-and-fill or spray foam wall cavities. Florida Energy rebates stack.
  • Storm damage + electrical repair. Fallen tree often takes service drop. We coordinate utility coordination + roofing + electrical as one project.

Roofing FAQs

Florida Roofing Questions Answered.

How fast can you respond to wind-driven rain emergencies in Florida?

Same-day during winter storms (December–March) for wind-driven rain emergencies. We bring 200°F low-pressure emergency tarping equipment to prevent the shingle damage that pry-bar removal causes. Most wind-driven rain jobs completed in 2–6 hours.

Do you handle storm damage insurance claims?

Yes. We document storm damage with high-resolution photos and drone aerials, write the estimate in adjuster format (matching common insurance software like Xactimate), and work directly with your insurance company on the claim. Most approved with one adjuster site visit.

What roofing brands do you install?

GAF (top 3% of US contractors), Owens Corning Platinum Preferred, CertainTeed, IKO, Englert and Drexel for metal. Slate and cedar shake on heritage homes. Materials selected based on home age, neighborhood character, and budget.

Is James Hardie siding worth the premium in Florida?

For coastal and high-moisture areas (South Shore, Cape, Islands) — yes. James Hardie fiber cement resists rot, insects, fire, and weather damage that vinyl can't survive. ColorPlus pre-finished color stays for 15+ years vs vinyl 7–10 years. We are James Hardie contractor.

Do you offer free roof inspections?

Yes. Free 45-point inspection with photo documentation: attic ventilation, ice and water shield coverage, flashing condition, valley wear, ridge vent function, vent boot integrity, and gutter system. Written report with photos delivered same day.

Are Florida roof permits required?

Yes for full replacement under Florida Building Code. We pull every permit under our Certified General Contractor (CGC). Pre-1978 homes also require EPA RRP lead-safe procedures for any soffit, fascia, or rake disturbance — RRP-certified crews on every applicable project.

What's the actual cause of wind-driven rains?

Attic heat loss — not your roof. Heat from your living space warms the attic, melts snow on the upper roof, water flows down to the cold eave and re-freezes. The dam grows, water pools behind it, and forces under shingles. Permanent fix is air sealing + attic insulation, not hurricane strapping. We coordinate with our weatherization crew.

How long does roof replacement take in Florida?

Typical 2,000 sq ft asphalt shingle replacement: 1–2 days. Metal standing seam: 2–4 days. Slate restoration: 1–3 weeks. Storm damage repair (single area): 4–8 hours. Schedule confirmed in your written estimate; weather contingency built in.
